Without a COA, “lab-tested” means nothing. It’s just a marketing claim. With a COA, you have a verifiable document signed by a third-party laboratory that has no commercial interest in your purchase. <\/p>\n\n

1 \u2014 The CBD content (and how it compares to the packaging)<\/strong>The COA indicates the actual CBD concentration, expressed as a percentage (%) or in mg\/g. A deviation of 50% or more\u2014such as \u201c20% CBD\u201d on the packaging and \u201c11% CBD\u201d on the COA\u2014is a real problem. <\/p>\n\n

2 \u2014 THC Content<\/strong>The Delta-9 THC content must be < 1% for Switzerland<\/strong>, < 0.3% for France and the EU<\/strong>. Note: A rigorous COA also lists THCA (a precursor that converts to THC when heated). If your product is intended for vaporization, THCA is included in the actual calculation. Request both values. <\/p>\n\n

3 \u2014 Pesticides and Heavy Metals<\/strong>This section is often missing from inexpensive COAs\u2014and that\u2019s a red flag. Cannabis is a hyperaccumulator: it absorbs contaminants present in the soil. A concentrated extract may contain pesticide residues at levels far higher than those in the raw plant. What you want to see: \u201cND\u201d (not detected) for each pesticide tested, or values below the legal MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits). <\/p>\n\n
